1. Jump Then Fall: Last summer was magical
OKAY, WHEN IS THIS??? WHERE WAS I?? (again, the tween in me has taken over, please do forgive.) |
2.Untouchable: We always want what we can't reach
I can't found a lot of information on this song. I do found one, it says that the song was originally Luna Halo's, but she wrote the new beautiful melody. That's all.
3. Forever & Always (Piano Version): I still miss who I thought he was
Another song for Joe ;) more on that in the original version.....
4. Come in with the Rain: I won't admit that I'd wish you'd come back
I have to say that this is one of my favorite song from the album, it's beautiful. "Come in with the rain" is an old expression meaning that when bad times come, people come to their senses and realize what they wanted was there the whole time. I don't know for whom she wrote this, but I'm guessing it's someone that she really likes but she's tired trying to get him so she's just going to let him "come in with the rain..."
5. Superstar: I'll never tell
Well, it's about her obsessing over a superstar. It could be anyone, some says Joe Jonas, or John Mayer, OR Martin from "Boys Like Girls" Hmm. I dunno. Anyone?
6. The Other Side of The Door: What was I really thinking when I slammed the door
Here's a theory. She saw him with another girl and overreacted. She dumped him, and now she realizes she misread the situation and that she was acting out just to watch him fall over himself to apologize. And the black dress part, she refers to it in "Tim McGraw" too, maybe it's the same guy. Though Taylor said, "Trying not to go back in your mind to every laugh and everything you miss." It could be about her ex.
7. Fearless: I loved you before I met you
Miss Swift said, "This is about the perfect first date I haven't had yet." so...it didn't really happened, just like Speak Now.
8. Fifteen: I cried while recording this
This song really makes me respect Taylor even more. She gives an advice to girls out there to know what's more important for them. And I love the honesty in this song, this is why people love Taylor. They can relate to her songs.
9. Love Story: Someday I'll find this.
Again, haven't happen yet. But loooove the video!
10. Hey Stephen: Love and Theft
Love and Theft (an American country music duo) is composed of Stephen Barker Liles and Eric Gunderson. And you know what? Around the same time, Stephen wrote a song about her too. It's called Try To Make It Anyway. This could be the second cutest thing that a guy did for Taylor (The whole Adam-Taylor-Enchanted thing is just too cute.) I'll post the lyrics with the video later if you're too lazy to look it up. ;)
11. White Horse: All I ever wanted was the truth.
I read in a website that this song, is actually about Drew (from Teardrops on My Guitar). Drew is the best friend that she liked, but he would always talk to her about the other girl he liked. Well, drew and his girlfriend split up, then went to visit Taylor at her house, and said "Are you still interested?" and she wrote this song. I looked up his Facebook and the status said that he's married!
12. You Belong With Me - Love is blind so you couldn't see me.
What Taylor said about this is, "I came into the writing session with Liz Rose and said, 'I've got this idea. I had overheard a friend of mine talking to his girlfriend and he was completely on the defensive saying, 'No, baby...I had to get off the phone really quickly...I tried to call you right back...Of course I love you. More than anything! Baby, I'm so sorry.' She was just yelling at him! I felt so bad for him at that moment.
So I came up with the first line 'You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset, going off about something that you said,' and I ran that into the story line that I'm in love with him and he should be with me instead of her. It just became this whole picture. It was really fun for us to write the line, 'She wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts.'" Hmm.. I still think that it's about Drew...
13. Breathe: I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry
This song is about a break up, either with a boyfriend or a best friend. I don't know for whom did Taylor wrote this, but someone said it's for her friend Emily, who left her band.
14. Tell Me Why: Guess I was fooled by your smile.
This song is about falling for someone who hurts her repeatedly. I really hope she doesn't mean it literally. There isn't any buzz about this song that I can find, though. This is a really catchy song, love it.
15. You're Not Sorry: She can have you
This is about a liar, Taylor said. People said it's for the guy in Should've Said No, or White Horse.... So it's either Sam or Drew. But maybe it's Sam...because , you know, the cheating part, make more sense.
16. The Way I Loved You: We can't go back.
Taylor said, "I got this idea for a song about being in a relationship with a nice guy who is punctual and opens up the door for you and brings you flowers…but you feel nothing. The whole time you’re with him, you’re thinking about the guy who was complicated and messy and frustrating.
So I brought that idea, the title and where I thought the song should go to John. He was able to relate to it because he is that complicated, frustrating messy guy in his relationships. We came at the song from different angles. It was just so cool to get in a room and write with him because he really is an incredible writer." I love this song, personally. Can totally relate... Anyway, I thought at first that this song is maybe for Joe, because of how much he liked Joe. But then, I don't know for sure. I mean they haven't even broken up yet, because even Forever & Always was added a day before the final version was due to be turned in.

17. Forever & Always: If you play these games, we're both going to lose.
Here's the highlight of the album. The whole 27 seconds break-up on the phone thing.
Here's the highlight of the album. The whole 27 seconds break-up on the phone thing.
This song is about the breakup of her relationship with the incredible Joe Jonas. She said, "It's about watching somebody fade away in a relationship. They said they were going to be with you forever, that they loved you, and then something changed in the relationship and you don't know what it is, but you're watching them slowly drift. That emotion of rejection, for me, usually starts out sad and then gets mad. This song starts with this pretty melody that's easy to sing along with, then in the end I'm basically screaming it because I'm so mad. I'm really proud of that."
She wrote this near the end of the recording process after she broke up with Joe. She had to plead with the president of her record label, Scott Borchetta, to let her add it to the album a day before the final version was due to be turned in.Joe Jonas told the June 2009 issue of Seventeen magazine that he wasn't bothered about Taylor writing about the break-up of their relationship. He said: "It's flattering. It's always nice to hear their side of the story." Gah, why can't she date the ones that are really nice like Taylor (Lautner), or Adam, OR Stephen.
18. The Best Day - God Bless Andrea Swift
This is clearly for her family, particularly her mother. She said that this is her gift to her mother for christmas, she recorded and made the video secretly. It's really beautiful, I think.
19. Change - You made things change for me
Taylor wrote this song about being on a small record label and having to work extra hard for everything against all the big record labels. Then finally the break comes, which she said was winning the horizon award.
